Planetary nebula, Messier 57 (aka Ring Nebula) and spiral galaxy, IC 1296. M57 is in our own galaxy and about 2300 light-years from Earth while the spiral galaxy is about 240 million light-years distant. IC 1296 was the site of a supernova explosion seen here in 2013.

Imaged online with the Schulman telescope in September, 2019, remotely controlled via script created with Aladin and ACP Planner and website developed by University of Arizona. Processing of all data by JDS using CCDStack2 and Adobe Photoshop.
